In a stunning reversal, former President Donald Trump announced today that he was rescinding his appointment of Congressman Matt Gaetz as Attorney General, citing what he called a “small misreading of handwritten notes.”
“I didn’t mean the Attorney General,” Trump clarified in a press conference held at Mar-a-Lago. “What I meant was that he needs anattorney. You know, in general. Because, uh, well…look at him. If you’re not famous, they’re not gonna let you do it.”
The change comes just a few days after Trump reportedly began to sour on Gaetz’s appointment after a “quick Google search” of Gaetz’s ongoing legal troubles.
Sources close to the president elect claimed that aides had to repeatedly explain to him the difference between “attorney general” and “needing an attorney, in general,” a process described as “painful but necessary.”
“Listen, Matt’s a great guy, really great, but this whole thing with investigations and… you know… all that stuff, it’s a lot,” Trump said, before pretending to give the microphone oral sex and making gagging noises to avoid specifics. “I think he’s much better suited for a job where no one asks too many questions about Venho.”
Gaetz has yet to publicly respond to the revocation.
