Trump Thinks He Nominated Glenn Sturgis from ‘Superstore’ to Supreme Court

President Trump has selected United States Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy after mistaking him for TV character Glenn Sturgis of the NBC sitcom Superstore.

In his announcement, Trump referred to his Supreme Court nominee as “Glenn” a total of 14 times and inaccurately cited Kavanaugh as being “Cloud 9’s constantly positive store manager. A devout Christian. And a foster-father to many children,” as Kavanaugh’s wife and two daughters looked on in discomfort and confusion.

Trump’s runner-up was Amy Coney Barrett, a Circuit Judge on the US Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Trump solely referred to Barrett as ‘Rita Repulsa’ – a reference to the Power Ranger’s villain whom the president grew quite fond of after the 2017 release of Power Rangers.
