Former president Donald Trump told reporters today that his soon-to-be released social media platform – Truth Social – is currently in beta testing and will be available to “real Americans” very soon. In the same statement, Trump also called Truth Social “the first of its kind.”
“They said it couldn’t be done because nobody’s ever even tried to do anything like it!” Trump smiled. “But we’re going to make Truth Social the hugest, most successful, highest-rated conservative safe space ever created. You can count on it!”
When asked how he planned to compete with the six other right wing social media platforms, Trump looked very confused.
“Mr. President, there’s already Parler, Gettr, Gab, Telegram, Minds, and Rumble. What sets Truth Social apart?” one reporter asked.
“No idea what you’re talking about. Never even heard of ’em. Never heard of ’em,” Trump told reporters. “I’m sure this is different. You’ve never even heard of anything like what we’re doing. We’re going to be absolutely incredible. Unbelievable really. Just watch!”
Despite claiming to know nothing about the other existing apps, several right wing social media sites have actually already tried to sue Trump and Truth Social; claiming that the former President’s company was copying their platforms. Each time a judge threw the suits out.
“They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. That’s exactly what all of these right wing apps have done,” a judge stated when she rejected one of the lawsuits. “Because of this, there’s no way to sue Mr. Trump and win as he can easily use the insanity defense against these charges.”
