The United States Supreme Court ruled today that an Arizona law requiring minorities to complete an obstacle course before voting is constitutional. Justice Roberts wrote the majority opinion in the 6-3 decision.

“It’s perfectly acceptable for minorities, the elderly and the handicapped to have to successfully complete an entire obstacle course like an American Ninja Warrior before voting,” justice Roberts wrote. “The mere fact that there is some disparity in impact does not necessarily mean that a system is not equally open or that it does not give everyone an equal opportunity to vote. Small disparities like climbing a 30-foot rope should not be artificially magnified, even if there’s a fee to participate.”
