The company formerly known as Facebook has filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump’s new social media company Truth Social. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg says that he decided to take action against Trump when he saw the similarities between his ‘poke’ feature and Truth Social’s ‘grope’ button.
“When Donald Trump Jr. posted a screenshot of Truth Social’s design online I immediately noticed that the little grabby hand with a ‘G’ on it was a complete ripoff of the iconic Facebook poke button,” Zuckerberg stated. “Visually they’re similar and functionality-wise they both do the same thing.”
Minutes after learning of the lawsuit, Trump spoke to reporters.
“They’re totally different. Okay? First and foremost, you’ll notice that my hands are way bigger. The icons that is, ours are huge compared to robot boy’s,” Trump grinned. “Even more importantly, on Truth Social you can only grope the opposite sex – and I think real America will really like that.”
To ensure that opposite-sex-groping is the only kind taking place, Truth Social will be requiring proof of sex via birth certificate upload. Notably, women won’t be able to turn off the grope function or block accounts owned by men.
