In what felt like a newer and more caring tone, Donald Trump began a press conference in New York City today with a poised demeanor that we’ve not previously seen from the President Elect. The first question came from a reporter at The Washington Post who asked him “What would you say to those around the world who are afraid of your leadership” – Trump paused, took a deep breath, and began:
“If I could tell the world just one thing, okay.
It would be that we’re all okay.
And don’t worry because worry is wasteful, alright?
And it’s useless in times like these.”
Pausing to wipe the sweat from his brow, Trump continued:
“I will not be made useless
America won’t be idled with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear.”
Then with an emotional crack in his voice, and a single golden tear meandering down his orange face, Trump bravely completed his answer:
But they’re not yours they are my own.
They’re not yours they are my own, you losers.
And I am never broken.”
An immediate and aware follow-up question from The Huffington Post’s Daniel R. Brothers then completely changed the tone in the room.
“Mr. Trump, you do realize that those are just lyrics from the artist Jewel. That’s literally her song “Hands” so… do you have a real answer?
Trump then stormed from the press conference while crying into his tiny, pathetic hands.
